Valeria assists in the resolution of disputes, both in and out of court, in relation to industrial and intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademarks, designs, copyrights, patents and unfair competition, as well as in matters relating to design, luxury, emerging technologies, renewable energy and pharmaceutical law.
She also deals with anti-counterfeiting strategies in trademark matters in both civil and criminal cases, including customs proceedings.
Professional Experience
Valeria has been a Trainee with the firm since October 2021 and is based in the Turin office.
Before graduating and working with Jacobacci Avvocati, in 2018 Valeria completed an internship at a Prague law firm specializing in commercial law, where she focused on corporate and EU law.
Education and Teaching
Law degree from the University of Turin in 2021 with a thesis in intellectual property law entitled “Copyright and Secondary Liability of Internet Service Providers”.
As part of her university career, in 2017 Valeria undertook a study period abroad under the “Erasmus+” program promoted by the European Union and in 2019 she took part in the “CopyrightX” course organized by Harvard University, dedicated to US and comparative intellectual property law.
In 2020 Valeria was selected by the University of Tartu (Estonia), renowned in the field of digital technology, for an internship within the ”IT Law program”, an academic study and research program focused on emerging technologies, a field of expertise that she has continued to pursue by attending several summer schools on the subject as well as collaborating with a German association in discussions and research on Artificial Intelligence and robotics.
Professional Affiliations
She has been a member of the Turin Bar Association as a trainee lawyer since October 2021.
Publications and Recognition
Valeria has participated in two research projects in collaboration with the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) and the Council of Europe, aimed at publishing international reports focusing on the relationship between human rights and emerging technologies:
- the “Italian National Report on Human Rights and Technology in European Law Students’ Association and Council of Europe, Human Rights and Technology” (yet to be published);
- “Italian National Report + Concluding Report on Internet Censorship in European Law Students’ Association and Council of Europe, Internet Censorship” (January 2021).
Passions and Interests
Valeria is passionate about photography, travelling and horse riding.
