Simona Ricciotti

Simona has a consolidated experience in the protection of trademarks, including unconventional trademarks, designs, copyright, domain names and know-how, as well as in unfair competition matters, assisting both Italian and international clients, particularly multinational companies, mainly French, in the luxury sector.

Simona deals with the resolution of judicial and extrajudicial disputes in industrial and intellectual property and unfair competition, before Civil and Criminal Courts, particularly in the fight against counterfeiting of famous trademarks and models, especially in the fashion and luxury goods sector in general, cosmetics and perfumes, and in the food and wine and automotive sectors.

In the extra-judicial field, she has extensive experience in the negotiation, drafting and review of international commercial contracts, in particular licensing, concession and distribution agreements, especially in the context of selective distribution, especially in the cosmetics and perfumery sectors.

She assists national and international clients in criminal anti-counterfeiting and customs proceedings, including cooperation with law enforcement agencies through specialised training.

Simona has also experience in mediation procedure.

Professional Experience

Simona joined the Turin office of the firm in 2003 and has held the role of Counsel since 2024.

Education and Teaching

Simona received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Turin in 1999.

In 2003, she attended the International Trade Law Course, organized in Turin by the University Institute for European Studies and the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization, held entirely in English and focused on international trade law and the drafting of international commercial contracts.

Professional Affiliations

Simona has been a member of the Turin Bar Association since 2002.

She is a member of APRAM (Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles), a French-speaking association made up of industrial and intellectual property specialists, based in Paris.

Publications and Recognition

Simona participated as a speaker in the webinar organized by the Turin Chamber of Commerce and Indicam, on the topic of labeling, particularly of cosmetics, in October 2022. In April 2024, she was a speaker at the webinar organised by CCI France Italie, focused on how to create and consolidate a brand, analyzing the different protection strategies, both at civil and criminal levels, in particular of well-known trademarks and designs in the cosmetics and fashion sectors.

Simona has also been a speaker at international conferences, particularly within the framework of the Union des Fabricants, a French-speaking association in the fight against counterfeiting, on the protection of industrial property rights in civil and criminal cases, particularly of famous trademarks and models, and the related compensation for damages; she has also spoken at thematic conferences, organized, for example, by the French Textile Federation and the French Federation of Food Industries and "Confiserie."

Simona has authored articles on industrial property, including an article on three-dimensional trademarks and, in particular, on the protection of a cult fashion item, such as Longchamp's Le Pliage bag, in the September 2022 Techno Fashion magazine. Moreover, she is co-author of an article on Pan-European injunctions in Italy for famous trademarks.
