Jean-Mathieu is the founding and managing partner of the Paris office.

He is an experienced IP lawyer, with a vast practice that covers patents, trademarks, copyright and registered designs, both in litigation and transactional matters. His expertise also extends to IP-related matters such as unfair competition and new emerging IP issues.

Jean-Mathieu collaborates closely with his team to provide comprehensive advice, support, and guidance in litigation to both local and international clients. He has handled numerous pan-European cases, allowing him to offer effective strategies that meet the clients' expectations through innovative solutions.

His keen interest in emerging IP issues has led him to work on notable, precedent-setting matters including:

Professional Experience

Jean-Mathieu was the founding partner of the law firm Bertho & de Haas before opening the Paris Office of Jacobacci Avvocati – Avocats in 2009.

Education and Teaching

Jean-Mathieu graduated from the University of Rouen with a post graduate degree in International Law.

He lectured at the University of Rouen in Civil Law and in Customs Law (as it relates to the enforcement of Intellectual Property).

Passions and Interests

Jean-Mathieu is passionate about skiing and enjoys hitting the slopes during the winter season. In his free time, he also supports his local community by serving a French rugby club, which allows him to combine his love for sports with his commitment to giving back.
