Jean-Mathieu Bertho is a partner of the firm and heads the Paris office.
Before setting up the Paris office in 2009, Jean-Mathieu was the founder of Bertho & de Haas.
He is an experienced lawyer, specialising in trademark, patent and design law, but also in related areas of intellectual property law, in particular unfair competition law.
Over the years, he has handled several pan-European cases, which enables him to provide clients with global strategies at the European level.
He works alongside his team to provide advice, assistance, litigation expertise and innovative solutions to both French and international clients.
His clients operate in a wide range of sectors including luxury goods, fashion, publishing, cosmetics, food and packaging.
Jean-Mathieu is a graduate of the University of Rouen where he obtained a Master 2 in International Law in 1998. He was a lecturer in customs law and international regulations at the University of Rouen (the role of customs in the protection of intellectual property rights). He has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2002.
He is a member of the college of experts of the Union des Fabricants, INTA and APRAM.
