Diane de Valbray
Diane de Valbray is a partner at the Paris office. She advises clients on intellectual property rights (trademarks, designs and copyrights) as well as on related unfair competition disputes or disputes concerning the use of family names as a distinctive sign. The practice of intellectual property rights litigation has led her to develop a particular expertise in the defence of Protected Geographical Indications (PGI), in particular Protected Designations of Origin (PDOs). Diane graduated with an LL.M in Trademark Law from the Humboldt University of Berlin in 2007 and with a Master II in Industrial Property from the University Panthéon-Assas Paris 2 in 2009. As part of her continuing education, she graduated in 2022 from the University of Burgundy with a university degree in Vine and Wine Law. She has been a member of the Paris Bar since January 2012.

The practice of intellectual property rights litigation has led her to develop a particular expertise in the defence of Protected Geographical Indications (PGI), in particular appellations of origin (AOC and PDO).
She acts to protect appellations of origin against all forms of prohibited use likely to damage the reputation of the appellation.
She is particularly active in the wine sector, where she assists and represents her clients in the defence of their intangible assets, whether they be distinctive signs (wine/domain/patronymic trademarks; domain names; logos), official signs of quality and origin, or related unfair competition issues.
She represents the clients before the French courts and authorities (in particular the customs authorities and agents of the DREETS and the DGCCRF) as well as before the French and European intellectual property offices and AFNIC.
In 2007, Diane de Valbray specialised in Trademark Law within the framework of an LL.M. from the Humboldt Universität in Berlin after a double degree in French and German Business Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. After one year of professional experience, she obtained a Master II in Industrial Property Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon- Assas in 2009. In 2022, she graduated from the University of Burgundy with a university degree in Vine and Wine Law.
She is a member of INTA (International Trademark Association), AIPPI (International Association for the protection of Intellectual Property), APRAM (French trademarks and patent designs practitioners Association) and AIDV-IWLA (International Wine Law Association).
