With 25 years of practice behind her, Claudia has extensive experience in the protection of IP rights, focusing on software, know-how, patents, copyrights and in the area of media and entertainment.

Claudia assists both national and international clients, from individuals to small and medium enterprises to large international companies. Many of Claudia’s clients come from the automotive, electronics, tobacco and entertainment sectors.

Claudia approaches each client matter with passion, remaining aware of the differences between each case and the diversity of her clients, which knowledge she uses to craft solutions – some outside of the box – that are suitable and sustainable defence strategies in litigation and for protection of IP projects.

Professional Experience

Claudia has been a Partner since 2010 and is Head of the Rome office.

Claudia also leads Jacobacci Avvocati’s pro bono working group, coordinating the firm’s membership with the Pro Bono Italia association.

Among her noteworthy professional experiences, Claudia participated as an expert in the technical table of The European House – Ambrosetti in 2011, concerning a study on the legal criticalities of legislative review regulating the tobacco sector in Europe which led, among other things, to the gradual implementation of plain packaging.

Education and Teaching

Claudia graduated in law with honors in 1995 from the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

In 2008, she was a visiting foreign lawyer at the firm Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP in Century City (Los Angeles), where she worked in the Entertainment, Media and Technology Department.

Claudia regularly lectures in post-graduate and masters programs and speaks at workshops and seminars, also in collaboration with different associations, universities and with the Italian Association of Professional Accountants.

Professional Affiliations

Claudia was admitted to the (Rome) Bar in 1998 and to the Italian Supreme Court in 2012.

She is currently a member of EPLAW and LES (Licensing Executives Society) and is a member of the Women in Licensing Alliance Committee of LESI (LES International).

Publications and Recognition

Claudia received wide recognition for the article she co-authored with Nicola Infante and Tibicon, a consultancy association, for the book: “Are trademarks right-wing or left-wing? The role of intellectual property in the strategy of Italian political parties” (first edition 2008, second edition 2012). Reaching a goal in an area where she combines her personal passion and professional interests, Claudia is also co-author of the publication: “2011 Report. The market and industry of cinema in Italy”, edited by ‘Fondazione Ente dello Spettacolo’, having written the chapter ‘The evolution of Product Placement – New Tools to reduce the area of potential failure and maximize the investment”.

Frequently recognized by prominent legal directories, Claudia was most recently included in the rankings by IAM Patent 1000 and in the legal recognitions issued by the Italian publication, Il Sole 24 ore.

Passions and Interests

Claudia would love living at the seaside. She is very fond of movies, pop music and culture, and has recently become an aspiring “pizzica” dancer.
